Cambridge, Massachusetts In 2002, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Historic Parkways Initiative decided to rehabilitate the Memorial Drive Parkway as a model project. The project included the area from the Boston University Bridge to the Longfellow Bridge. Phase I is completed and included improved pedestrian and bicycle circulation. Brown, Richardson & Rowe recommended removing a lane of traffic and parking to increase the width of the park next to the Charles River.
