Brown, Richardson & Rowe has been part of the transformation of Logan International Airport since 1995. Over 27 million passengers fly in and out of Logan every year, making it the gateway to New England for people from all over the world. Virtually every terminal, garage, road and landscape is new or has been redesigned as part of the Logan 2000 Master Plan and the I-90 Interchange and Airport Roadway projects.
For the I-90 Interchange and Terminal Area Roadway Projects, Brown, Richardson & Rowe created a New England landscape. Birches were planted in front of Spruces and underplanted with native perennials and ferns so that the visitor would be greeted by views appropriate to the region. The four seasons are celebrated throughout the colorful landscape.
We redesigned the pedestrian areas at Terminal B and the Logan Office Center. Curved Ipe benches near terminal exits and plazas welcome passengers and provide seating for employees.
We are now working on the landscape for a new consolidated rental car facility at Logan. Green design, multi-use paths to Memorial Stadium Park, a new pedestrian connection to the Harborwalk are important features of this project.
